Heal The Healer

As healers – those who've accepted the responsibility of helping others to heal – we often forget how vital it is for us to receive healing ourselves, or have difficulty making the time to maintain our own energy in this way. But the concept of giving ourselves oxygen, or love, or healing, before we can give it to others IS true. And that is the main focus of these monthly events.

If you are a healer, we welcome you to join us in an amazing experience of shared energy, healing and community. Facilitated by Rahanni and sound bath practitioners: Jenni from The Dreaming Tree... and Elif from Elified, Inc., you will receive the benefits of a double sound bath, a healing session with two Rahanni healers, and a group healing performed by all of the participants on either someone in the group, or each other and the Earth.

Group energy is very powerful, and because we are all one, when we focus that energy on any one of us, it benefits ALL of us. As healers join together in a group, the energy is multiplied exponentially, and it is an amazing experience for the healers as well as those receiving the healing.

Sarah has no shortage of skills to bring to a guided walking meditation (just check out some of the other workshops she's offering), combined with a degree in Recreation and Leisure, with a focus on Outdoors.  She's planning on putting it all together, as she leads you through one of our local wooded parks.  Movement, stretching and meditation are some of the “juicy goodness”, as she calls it, that will be integrated into an outdoor experience where you can enjoy nature and nurture yourself, as you leave behind the hum of summer buzz; at least for a couple of hours.


(This is a 100% outdoor experience – if you can't or don't wish to sit on the ground, please bring a camp chair for your comfort.)

The Equinox is a time when day and night, light and dark, and masculine and feminine energies are in balance. And the fall equinox is also a time of harvest; of gratefully reaping the wisdom and benefits from the work we've done spiritually. But it is also the time to decide what to gather and store to sustain us through the winter.

It is the time to release the need to 'work', and prepare to rest, rejuvenate and heal so that we will have the energy to grow again in the spring. Taking care of ourselves is not something that many of us are used to making a priority, but it is what we need to focus on, as we prepare for winter.

Foundational Movement explores the connections and functions of all of the anatomy required for movement.  Movement doesn't happen in isolation – it is a chain reaction that involves much more than just the final expression.  As with everything, a strong foundation is vitally important in supporting what is built on top of it – and movement is NO EXCEPTION!

Sarah combines her extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology with her own unique combination of skills and sense of humour, to show you the subtleties of movement that can have major impacts on not just mobility and performance, but the release of pain and tension as well.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE AND BREATHWORK WORKSHOP

We all know that stretching our muscles is a great form of release, and that muscles hold a lot of physical and emotional tension.  BUT they are not alone!  They are surrounded by connective tissue called fascia, which can also become tight and rigid and cause pain and discomfort, while limiting muscle movement and mobility.

And NOTHING moves without breath.  Most of us are habitually breathing in a way that supports our stressful lives – which is quick and shallow.  This only signals the body to maintain a stressful state.  But, by learning to utilize the full capacity of our lungs, we can signal the nervous system to relax, having a profound impact on all areas of our lives, and bodies, including the fascia and the muscles.

Combining her training with John Barnes, in myofascial release, and with Jill Miller (Body by Breath) in breathwork, along with her own extensive knowledge of the body, Sarah will guide you through the process of releasing in ways that you probably haven't experienced before.
